That is actually completely appropriate for Jedi "formal wear". The well-dressed Jedi is thereby ready for any eventuality. One never knows when a Sith will decide to sup at one's favorite 5 star restaurant. When dressed in this manner, the Jedi can dispense with the Sith through several deftly aimed light-saber strikes and a few clever 'flying through the air' manuevers and still be back to his (or her) table in time for dessert!

Oh my! How funny. We made Bret dress up with us all the time, though. I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
